Faux-Tapis (1995)

This group of works was conceived of as “fake tapestries,” using fabrics made at a batik workshop in Sri Lanka in 1983 that incorporate Rauschenberg’s hotographic imagery. The Faux-Tapis are composed of two horizontal panels installed one above the other with a 2 1/2-inch space between the panels.
