Southwest Florida Community Foundation
In 2014, the Rauschenberg Foundation partnered with the Community Foundation to launch an open call for proposals to organizations working to improve the quality of life in Southwest Florida. Focusing on the region’s most pressing needs, the open call invited non-profits across sectors to apply for support towards innovative, collaborative projects. Grantees were selected through a competitive process that included participation in a daylong “Innovation Lab” that promotes design thinking and fosters strong collaborative relationships.
Ten local service organizations were chosen for the 2016 cohort, focused on organizations that provide a safety net for some of the most vulnerable populations. As a group they provided a wide range of critical services, such as hunger relief for school children, employment training, and anti-poverty measures, among others. Read more about these local organizations and the services they provided in the region.
