Glacial Decoy Series (1979–80)

This series of etchings and lithographs was published by Universal Limited Art Editions (ULAE), West Islip, New York. The imagery is derived from Rauschenberg’s photographs taken in and around Fort Myers, Florida in 1979–80. He projected slides with much of the same imagery as stage décor for Trisha Brown Dance Company’s 1979 performance of the same name. It was for this project that Rauschenberg returned to black-and-white photography, after a hiatus since the mid-1960s.
