Magic Lantern Cinema

Magic Lantern Cinema is an experimental film series devoted to the exhibition of moving-image art created outside traditional commercial contexts. It curates programs of short films, videos, and new-media art, often in collaboration with local cultural organizations or invited scholars, curators, and artists. It also explores alternative modes of filmic exhibition, including screenings of long-form cinema and multimedia performances. In addition to providing much-needed operational support, its SEED grant will help it expand into new areas of curatorial practice and explore novel critical and artistic engagements with experimental media.
