The Sustainable Native Communities Collaborative builds capacity for culturally and environmentally sustainable development within American Indian, First Nations, and Indigenous communities worldwide. Through planning, architectural design, technical assistance and research, their services help tribes gain self-sufficiency, improve their impacts on the natural world, and develop healthy, green, culturally appropriate communities. The Sustainable Native Communities Collaborative team practices architecture and site planning as a collaborative, creative process that connects traditional artists and culturally engaged tribal members with the built environment and exemplary design services. Working together with community members, they have formed a design practice that is both deeply collaborative and place‐based with social and artistic integrity.
